UAE aims to create 50,000 new green jobs by 2030 while ensuring sustainable economic growth

Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi stated that the UAE plans to generate 50,000 new green employment by 2030 while guaranteeing sustainable economic growth.

The minister revealed details of the updated version of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, which was first launched in 2017, as well as the development of the National Hydrogen Strategy, which was approved by the UAE Cabinet to enhance the country's efforts to meet its climate and net-zero commitments by 2050 during a media briefing.

According to the amended targets, the UAE would invest between Dh150 and Dh200 billion by 2030 to meet energy demand while maintaining economic development in the UAE. The strategy's goal is to increase individual and institutional energy consumption efficiency rates in order to minimise carbon emissions and promote environmental sustainability. This will contribute to Dh100 billion in financial savings and the creation of 50,000 new green employment by 2030.
