Al Ain and Al Dhafra will get two additional recycling units installed, Abu Dhabi Mobility said on Wednesday. These fixtures, which are situated in the principal bus terminals, allow empty plastic bottles to be inserted.
Recyclyng in these units earns points for the residents. Residents need to download the Cycled Rewards app in order to accrue the points. Every 600 ml bottle will get one point, and larger bottles will earn two points.
One dirham is earned for every ten points, which are then added to the Hafilat card. In the Abu Dhabi emirate, Hafilat smart cards are used to pay for public transportation.
This action is a part of an ongoing project that is being carried out in partnership with Cycled Technologies, a business that specializes in creating and implementing reverse vending machines (RVM) and smart recycling stations in the United Arab Emirates, and the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi.
In 2022, Abu Dhabi Mobility, which was formerly known as the Integrated Transport Center (ITC), launched the plan.
