Two new, significant marine transit routes that link Dubai Creek to the emirate's top tourist destinations have been revealed by the Roads and transit Authority of Dubai. Since their first inauguration in 2022, the lines that immediately connect Dubai Creek Harbour to Dubai Festival City and the Al Khor Metro station have garnered a lot of popularity.
These lines carried an average of 3,000 people per month in August 2022, but by 2024, 30,000 passengers per month were using the lines, indicating a 900% increase in public demand.
In response to the growing demand, the two lines have now been expanded to facilitate easier passenger transit by adding more ticket kiosks and a number of new berths for a variety of marine boats.
On weekends, the line runs from 4 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. between Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City. The other line, which runs from 4 p.m. to 10.50 p.m. on weekdays, links Dubai Creek Harbour with Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station.
The RTA and Emaar Properties worked together to finish developing the transportation links, which will better serve the waterfront community and revitalize Dubai's tourist attractions and residential regions.
Between Dubai Creek Harbour and important metropolitan attractions, the maritime transport routes offer much-needed connections.
