Travellers flying to Schengen countries are allowed to carry 100ml liquid from September 1

Residents of the United Arab Emirates and visitors to Schengen countries will be permitted to check up to 100ml of liquid in their hand baggage as of September 1. The European Council made this announcement and clarified that it was a temporary measure in response to any threat.

Residents of the United Arab Emirates frequently travel to the Schengen nations for business and vacation. Furthermore, a sizable population of European citizens resides and works in the Emirates. There is a restriction on the amount of liquid that travellers can bring in their carry-on luggage at the majority of airports worldwide.

In order to quickly develop technological solutions for safe and secure air travel, the Commission further said that it is collaborating with member states and the European Civil Aviation Conference.

Finnair, the official airline of Finland, has also declared that as of September 1, 2024, carry-on luggage at European airports, including Helsinki Airport, would only be permitted in liquid containers up to a capacity of 100 millilitres.
