The key locations across the city now provide a "free of cost" umbrella service with the partnership between Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority and UmbraCity, a Canadian smart umbrella sharing service provider. Now, travellers using their nol card may check out umbrellas for free at a single spot whenever they're at the Al Ghubaiba Bus and Metro station.
By providing residents and visitors with assistance while moving around without letting rain spoil things, the service aims to improve Dubai's walkability. This news follows another initiative from the RTA, which states that it will work on several projects under the Quick Traffic Improvements Plan. The plan aims to implement 45 traffic solutions across the emirate in 2023–2024, 14 of which were made last year.
