The President honoured the winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize in a ceremony held as part of the COP28

As part of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), which the UAE is hosting at Expo City Dubai on Friday, the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, honoured the recipients of the Zayed Sustainability Prize.

Ministers, top government officials, prize winners, finalists, and many of the chiefs of delegations attending COP28 attended the ceremony.

The winners were congratulated by Sheikh Mohamed, who also commended them for their efforts to advance sustainability and urged them to keep making significant contributions in this area. He highlighted that the UAE is committed to continuing to build on the legacy of sustainability that its late founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, lay. Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the Zayed Sustainability Prize's substantial contribution to sustainable development, human welfare, and enabling inventors, entrepreneurs, and young people to take proactive steps to improve the environment.

Over 55,186 pupils and 453,887 members of the local community have benefited from the efforts of the 47 global high schools that won this category.

After carefully evaluating each candidate to evaluate their contributions and dedication to presenting creative, significant, and motivational solutions across a range of prize categories, including Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action, and Global High Schools, the jury unanimously chose the eleven winners of this year's edition in September.
