The official Eid Al Fitr holidays for Ajman government employees has been announced

The official holidays for Eid Al Fitr for Ajman government employees have been announced by the city's human resources department.

Government workers in the emirate will have the first long weekend of the year off from Ramadan 29 till Shawwal 3, 1444 AH. This was stated in a circular the department sent to the emirate's government organisations.

Eid Al Fitr is celebrated after the holy month on the first of Shawwal — the month that follows Ramadan in the Hijri calendar.

On Thursday, March 23, the holy month officially started in the Emirates. Depending on when the moon is visible, the length of an Islamic month is either 29 or 30 days. Ramadan will last 29 days this year, according to astrological calculations, thus the Eid holiday in Ajman will start on Thursday, April 20.

The emirate's Human Resources Department offered its sincerest congratulations and blessings on this special day to the leaders and citizens of the United Arab Emirates as well as other Arab and Islamic countries, and prayed to God to grant them all long lives and good health.
