The Emirates Airline has advised passengers who have trips scheduled in December to plan their journeys wisely

The flagship airline of Dubai - Emirates, alerted travellers on Wednesday that there would be a rush at the airport starting in two days. As departure numbers surge throughout the festive month of December, notably on the UAE National Day and Christmas holidays, the airline advises travellers planning a trip in December to do so with caution.

Emirates is planned to operate daily flights out of Dubai International Airport (DXB) with over 75,000 passengers on most weekends in December. Emirates has listed the following tips for the benefit of travellers:

• The Emirates app can be downloaded to access flight details. You can book and change flights, download a digital boarding pass for the majority of destinations, receive notifications about your flight, see what meals are served, reserve a chauffeur drive service, pre-select and plan films to watch on the ice inflight entertainment system and even check what meals will be served.
• Emirates.com can be used by customers to check-in. Check-in via the app and online is available 48 hours before the departure time of the flight.
• To guarantee you get to the departure gate in time for your trip, arrive at the airport up to three hours in advance and note your boarding time.
• There is a wide array of check-in and baggage drop options that can be utilised by the passengers. Select from the newly renovated First and business-class check-in spaces at Dubai International Airport, Emirates City Check-In and Travel Store, private home check-in services, or remote check-in options.
• Check-in at the Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store located at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC)'s ICD Brookfield Place, instead of wasting time at the airport. Passengers can check in and drop their luggage as early as 24 hours and up to 4 hours before a flight.
• The luggage can be dropped off at the airport the night before travel without any charge. Travellers leaving from Dubai have the option to check in ahead of time and drop off their luggage 24 hours or 12 hours before takeoff, depending on whether they are travelling to the US. When it gets closer to departure time, passengers can head straight to the airport's immigration section.
• Passengers in Dubai and Sharjah can also opt to check in at home. Customers may check in from their home, hotel, or place of business with DUBZ representatives, who will then transport their baggage to the aircraft, leaving them to quickly pass through the airport. Travellers may make reservations up to 24 hours in advance of departure and arrive at the airport up to 6 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. First-class travellers are entitled to a free home check-in service.
• Ajman Central Bus Terminal offers a 24-hour City Check-in service for travellers arriving from Ajman. In addition to checking in up to four hours before takeoff, passengers may also check in their bags, pick up their boarding tickets and purchase a Dh20 bus ticket to go straight to Emirates Terminal 3. Buses run frequently throughout the day, from 4 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. Travellers can go to their flight after they arrive at the airport.
• Special assistance for People of Determination: When travelling during the holiday season, People of Determination may take advantage of committed assistance from skilled Emirates and airport employees. For those with hidden impairments, this comprises a pre-planning guidance for Dubai International Airport (DXB), two hours of free parking, and access to a special priority lane for check-in, passport control, security, and priority boarding if needed.
