NewsThe Abu Dhabi Police's Directorate of Traffic and Patrols emphasised the risks associated with breaking traffic laws in the nation during a gathering hosted by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality. Rabdan Park in Zayed City hosted the 'Our City is Beautiful' event, which was organised in collaboration with Shakhbout City Schools, Al Ahlya Hospital, Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company, and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority.
The Director of the Directorate of road and Patrols, Dean Mahmoud Youssef Al Balushi, emphasised the interest of Abu Dhabi Police in boosting community members' road safety. He advised families and kids to only use e-scooters in approved areas and with the appropriate safety gear, and he cautioned them about the risks of operating these vehicles on public roadways.
In an effort to reaffirm the need for riders to adhere to traffic laws, Dubai Police released information on Tuesday indicating that five people have died and 29 have been wounded in a number of e-scooter incidents around the emirate in the last eight months. The head of Dubai's traffic department, Major-General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, reported that more than 10,000 riders had received penalties in the previous eight months. Additionally, 32 incidents have been reported as a result of "improper use" of e-scooters. Two of the injuries were serious, fourteen were moderate, and thirteen were minor.
