350 "fancy" licence plates are available from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), including two-digit plates for classic cars and motorcycles as well as three, four, and five-digit plates for private vehicles with A-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V codes.
This is the 71st 'distinguished' number plate auction to be held online by RTA.
A 5% VAT (Value Added Tax) is charged on the sale of licence plates in this auction. Each bidder is needed to pay a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120, open a traffic file in Dubai, post a security check for Dh5,000 made out to RTA, and deposit a security deposit of Dh5,000. Payment options include using a credit card on the RTA website or the Dubai Drive app, as well as at the Customers Happiness Centres in Umm Al Ramool, Al Barsha, or Deira.
