NewsThis weekend, Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed to cars for one day. On Sunday, November 12, the normally bustling route will be blocked to traffic in honour of Dubai Fitness Challenge's Dubai Ride. Additionally, in association with adidas, Les Mills, and Dubai Fitness Challenge, a Guinness World Record attempt to shatter the largest high-intensity interval train class record will be held on Sheikh Zayed Road's asphalt on the same day.
The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai will release information closer to the scheduled closure period. The precise timing of the road closure has not yet been determined. Dubai Metro will continue to run so it is available to people who would like to reach the spot.
And for those interested in joining the event, they can still register online.
Either a 12km ride along Sheikh Zayed Road or a 4km family-friendly route through Downtown Dubai are available, with starting locations at Business Bay, Lower Financial Street, Al Satwa, Museum of The Future, and Coca-Cola Arena. Anyone who has always desired to participate to break the Guinness World Record may register using the Adidas app.
Sheikh Zayed Road will close for Dubai Run on Sunday, November 26.
