The Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba neighbourhood of Abu Dhabi celebrated New Year 2024 with its amazing performances and features. The celebrations added to the merriment as it broke four Guinness World Records along the way. Together with international performances and activities, the festival featured a grand fireworks display, a 60-minute drone show, and other events that created a festive and cultural environment for guests.
The celebration of the New Year with festivities, activities, and performances attracted a sizable international population. Three Guinness World Records were broken during the forty-minute fireworks show, and another record for the largest aerial logo was achieved by the more than 5,000 drones that formed brilliant shapes in the sky.
To celebrate the start of the New Year, a special laser show—the first of its kind in the area—enthralled guests with vivid colours and peaceful nighttime beats. A variety of pavilions, the Emirates Fountain, the Glowing Towers Garden, and international folklore performances hosted special events. Visitors from all over the world flocked to the festival grounds to take part in the international festivities, particularly at the Heritage Village where Ayalah and Razfa dances were performed to ring in the new year. With kid-friendly events including rides at Fun Fair City, terrifying House of Horror, children's theatre performances and contests, Al Forsan Sports Resort, and many more, Children's City joined in on the fun festivities.
In addition to discounts and other surprises for shopping, the Sheikh Zayed Festival provides fresh culinary experiences from regional and international restaurants. From 4 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and until 1 a.m. on weekends and public holidays, the festival will be open until March 9, 2024.
