Sheikh Mohammed issued Decree No. (13) of 2024 on the Unified Digital Platform for establishing companies in Dubai

Decree No. (13) of 2024 on the Unified Digital Platform for forming firms in Dubai was issued by Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his position as the Ruler of Dubai. The decree is a part of Dubai's initiatives to improve the business climate and promote economic expansion. 

The platform seeks to combine the licencing procedures run by the Department of Economy and Tourism, the authorities of free zones and special development zones, such as the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and other pertinent organisations, with one another. 

The integration aims to make investing in Dubai much more enjoyable and improve investors' comfort and convenience by providing a simplified means of getting information, licences, and other services relevant to economic activity. The decree seeks to improve clarity and simplicity by regulating the issuing of licences, permits, and approvals in the emirate. It applies to all economic activity in Dubai. It also aims to assist investors in overcoming challenges while establishing or running companies in Dubai.

The decree aims to help Dubai's digital transformation in accordance with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to create the city as a hub for the digital economy, and to improve electronic integration between licencing offices and other relevant institutions to prevent duplication of operations.

The resolution states that enabling a seamless experience for investors in Dubai and putting in place the necessary processes to do so are the responsibilities of all licencing authorities as well as federal and local entities tasked with regulating and overseeing commercial operations in Dubai.
