NewsThe Sharjah Municipality opened a direct line of communication with the public as part of its most recent effort to engage the locals. The director general can now communicate with locals and residents using WhatsApp.
On Thursday, the Municipality issued a statement to make the announcement: "As a testament to our commitment to delivering services that meet your expectations and overcome any challenges you may face, we have assigned WhatsApp number that allows you to communicate directly with the Director General."
If residents have trouble using other communication methods, they can voice their opinions, grievances, or ideas. This number (0501617777) can be used to WhatsApp the Director General.
Citizens in the emirate are free to communicate with authorities, including the Ruler, to express their needs or provide their opinions. Sharjah's ruler, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, frequently engages with the populace and broadcasts his words on a radio station.
In Sharjah, the programme known as Direct Line, or 'Al Khat Al Mubasher' in Arabic, has become very well-liked as a forum for locals to voice their grievances and complaints. To get replies and solutions to the issues presented by the audience, the host of the show gets in touch with the appropriate government agencies or officials. In 2006, the programme was introduced.
