Sharjah International Airport has implemented a number of automated processes to all Air Arabia passengers to make their journey easy

Passengers' journey is now easier thanks to a variety of automated procedures that the Sharjah International Airport has put in place. With the airport's self-services, travellers may handle everything on their own, including check-in, luggage drop, passport control, and boarding.

For Check-in process:

• There are self-check-in kiosks at the airport. At a kiosk, travellers have the option to input their Passenger Name Record (PNR) or scan their passports.
• The boarding pass and luggage tag will be printed as soon as their data are accepted.

Baggage drop:

• Travellers using the self-check-in kiosk have the option to print their luggage tags. If they checked in online, they could print their tag at the "Tag and Fly" kiosk before going to the self-baggage drop desk. 
• “Moreover, there is an automatic boarding card validator to streamline the process before the passport control area as per an airport spokesperson.

Passport Control at Smart Gates:

• The passport photo page is placed on the e-reader by passengers..
• The e-reader is then used to scan the barcode.
• They pass through the smart gate, take a seat in the allocated spot, and face the camera.
• Once all procedures are completed, the smart gate will automatically open, allowing the passengers to proceed with their journey.

Boarding:

• To board the aircraft, passengers can go to the new electronic gates.

 

In order to facilitate virtual communication between travellers and customer care representatives at the airport, the Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has introduced a "smart information desk."
