Sharjah gears up for 43rd edition of the World Travel Market in London from November 6-8

Sharjah is preparing for a big show at the 43rd World Travel Market (WTM), which will take place in London from November 6–8, an international gathering of travel agents from all over the world. In cooperation with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), a coalition of 18 public and private organisations will represent Sharjah. The main goal of the coalition's presentation will be to highlight the emirate's notable achievements in coordinating the expansion of the tourism industry with the conservation of environmental, historical, and cultural values—a crucial part of its strategy for sustainable tourism diversification.

The emirate will highlight a wide range of outstanding experiences and locations throughout its involvement, including environmental, desert, heritage, cultural, recreational, adventurous, and sports tourism. From the desert to the islands, Sharjah boasts a unique diversity of environments. Notable sites include the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, Mleiha Archaeological and Ecotourism Project, Buhais Geology Park, Sharjah Safari, and natural reserves like Al Qurm Nature Reserve and the Wasit Wetland Centre.

The emirate's expansion has remained unwavering. Over 1.4 million people visited Sharjah's hotels in 2022; this year, that number has significantly increased. The emirate welcomed approximately 1.1 million visitors between January and September 2023, a remarkable 18% rise over the same time in 2022.

The Sharjah International Airport Authority, Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Museums Authority, Sharjah Institute of Heritage, Sharjah Asset Management, Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, Expo Centre Sharjah, Sharjah Sports Council, and Sharjah Old Cars Club are among the notable organisations and entities taking part in this year's event in cooperation with SCTDA.
