Sharjah bus fares have increased by as much as Dh3 in some routes since March 1 following a hike in the price of diesel

Sharjah bus prices have increased by Dh3 on certain routes from Friday, March 1, due to a 17 fils rise in the price of diesel this month.

The cost of intercity bus route 616 has also hiked, perhaps by Dh3, based on the destination. Shorter routes now cost Dh8, while longer distances now cost Dh30, up from Dh27 last month. Bus routes 112, 114, 115, and 116 now charge Dh3 fares instead of Dh1. However, routes 66 and 333 stay the same at Dh6 and Dh10, respectively.

Ajman Transport Authority has already said that as of March 1, taxi fares in the emirate will increase by four fils. Ajman taxi fares have increased to Dh1.83 per km from Dh1.79 last month, a 4 fils increase.
