Sharjah Book Authority has opened applications for the Sharjah International Book Fair Awards 2024

Applications are now being accepted for the annual Sharjah worldwide Book Fair (SIBF) Awards 2024, which is organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) and recognises writers, publishers, and translators for their contributions to Arabic and worldwide literature.

Submissions must be completed by August 31, 2024, and the winners will be revealed during the grand opening event. SIBF seeks to elevate the publishing sector worldwide, encourage reading culture, and honour and promote literary talents.

In addition to reinforcing SIBF's role in advancing writing, translating, and publishing Arabic and international books, the awards reflect SBA's dedication to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. They also honour creative visionaries who, in recognition of their exceptional efforts, provide the world with enlightening content.

The annual awards are organised into many key categories, such as the Sharjah Award for Emirati Books, the Sharjah Award for the Best Arabic Novel, the Sharjah Award for the Best International Book, and the Sharjah Publisher Recognition Award. The total prize pool for the awards is Dh625,000. The official SIBF website allows participants to submit their entries and obtain further information about the requirements and guidelines.
