Many Indian curriculum schools will give their students a four-day weekend, while some will have five days off for Diwali. Adding Saturday and Sunday together makes it a four-day holiday. Some schools are also giving students an additional day off on Wednesday, making it a five-day vacation.
Dhanteras will kick off this year's celebrations on October 29. The major Diwali festival is scheduled for Thursday, October 31.
Notably, before being announced to the school community, vacations in Dubai must be authorised beforehand by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
It is crucial to emphasise that, provided they meet the minimum number of school days needed by the international curriculum, which is 182 days, schools are allowed some leeway with their schedules.
