Several artificial reefs installed off the coast of Umm Al Quwain to protect the marine environment

To safeguard the marine environment and encourage sustainable fishing in the United Arab Emirates, a number of artificial reefs have been erected off the coast of Umm Al Quwain. Together with the Marine Affairs and Living Aquatic Resources Regulatory Committee, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment implemented the program.

The plan aims to create an environmentally friendly artificial marine reserve that nourishes marine life and improves environmental sustainability, according to Hiba Obaid Al Shehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Biodiversity and Marine Life Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
