NewsThe Dubai Municipality is implementing a new self-driven electric cleaning truck, which will automate the cleaning of bicycle routes surrounding Dubai's beaches. The Dubai Municipality introduced this new initiative for beach cleanup on X (the formerly known as Twitter). "Dubai Municipality posted that a self-driving electric vehicle is being tested to clean the bike paths along the beaches in Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim."
The statement went on to say that this project is a component of their strategy efforts to "maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of all facilities and tourist destinations in Dubai" and to manage garbage properly. The use of "the latest technologies, including automated and electric vehicles, to reduce environmental pollution and carbon emissions" by Dubai Municipality was also emphasised.
The innovative car runs without a driver and has rotating cleaning brushes up front. The car has sensors that identify people walking across the road and immediately apply the brakes to prevent accidents. This autonomous cleaning vehicle has a high productivity when compared to manual work and can run continuously for eight hours on a single battery. In normal mode, the car can reach an average speed of 40 kmph and is environmentally benign.
