Salik, Dubai’s toll gate operator, has announced its first venture outside Dubai through a partnership with Parkonic, a private parking operator managing 107 locations across the UAE. This collaboration aims to integrate Salik's eWallet as a payment option for parking fees, offering a seamless and convenient experience for customers. Starting in the first quarter of 2025, the partnership will cover over 135,000 parking spaces, with Salik earning a share of parking revenues generated through its system.
This initiative aligns with Salik’s strategy to diversify its revenue streams while enhancing mobility services. It follows similar projects, such as a barrier-free parking system at Dubai Mall set to launch in mid-2024, which leverages license plate recognition for automated fee collection.
