Cannons will be set up at various spots throughout Dubai this year, over the holy month of Ramadan.
The cannons will be fired by Dubai Police in eight different sites throughout the city.
In the United Arab Emirates, firing these Ramadan cannons is a long-standing custom that began in the 1960s. To signal the conclusion of the daily fast, a single shot is fired from each cannon each day.
The cannons will be placed in the following spots in Dubai:
Al Khawaneej Majlis
Burj Khalifa
Damac Hills
Expo City Dubai
Hatta Fort Hotel
Salt Camp (Kite Beach)
Uptown Mirdif
