NewsAs per an announcement on Friday, a new government agency will oversee private schools in Ras Al Khaimah. The authority claimed in a statement posted by news agency Wam that the Ministry of Education (MoE) will be "gradually delegating the powers" to regulate the emirate's private education industry to Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (Rakdok).
The change is anticipated to occur gradually. The strategic partnership was finalised when the MoE and Rakdok signed a memorandum of agreement.
The knowledge department will implement "a new approach" that is centred on raising the quality of education provided in the emirate and staying up to date with global norms.
According to Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi, a member of the department's board of directors, Rakdok is taking over at a time when the education sector in the emirate is undergoing fast growth.
Rakdok is composed of four primary departments that are responsible for various aspects:
- Institutional licensing and compliance for educational institutions
- Operations management and customer relations
- Quality management and evaluation
- Strategies and policies
These departments work together to provide a complete system that serves all educational levels.
