President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns his late brother, H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who passed away today

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, mourns the death of his brother, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Saeed was suffering from a health condition.

With hearts faithful to God's decree and destiny, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns his late brother, H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who passed away today."

The Presidential Court decreed three days of formal mourning, with flags flown at half-mast beginning today, Thursday, July 27, and concluding towards the end of Saturday, July 29.

Sheikh Saeed was born in Al Ain in 1965 and graduated from the UAE University in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in political science. He was appointed Undersecretary of the Department of Planning in Abu Dhabi after graduation. From 1991 until 1996, he was the Chairman of the Department of Seaports. He was also a representative of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for whom he made several official overseas trips. Between 2002 and 2003, he was President of the UAE Football Association. He has played an important part in a number of key development initiatives in the UAE. He also served on the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED), and was the Chairman of Al Wahda Sports Club.
