Pet owners in Abu Dhabi are required to register their pets on the TAMM portal, in order to help address the growing issue of abandoned animals in the emirate.
Pets are to be registered on the TAMM platform in accordance with new rules that the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) introduced. Noncompliance will result in fines beginning the next year.
Abu Dhabi's animal welfare rules prohibit pet abandonment, which carries consequences. Pet owners who leave their animals on the street face a Dh2,000 fine from the municipality. Furthermore, neglecting or mistreating animals can result in fines of up to Dh5,000 under Article 471 of the UAE Penal Code.
