The UAE's Ministry of Economy said on Tuesday that 644 major stores offered over 50% off of 10,000 items during Ramadan, with one cooperative offering discounts of Dh35 million.
Additional promotions during the holy month include 65% off 5,500 items at Lulu Hypermarket, which has more than 600 locations throughout the emirates.
Sultan Darwish, the ministry's director of consumer protection and commercial control, stated that another cooperative had advertised 60% off discounts on over 5,000 products.
