Over 12,000 private companies notified that the expansion of Emiratisation targets will be in effect starting January 2024

NewsCabinet Resolution No. (33/5W) of 2023 addressing the extension of Emiratization objectives will take effect in January 2024, as announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) and has been notified to approximately 12,000 private enterprises with 20–49 employees.
Employers employing 20–49 employees will have to take on one UAE national in 2024 and another in 2025. This move is anticipated to generate over 12,000 employment per year for UAE citizens in 2024 and 2025 in a number of crucial economic sectors, strengthening the Emiratization dossier, a major concern for the UAE government. This resolution is in addition to the emiratization objectives, which require businesses with fifty or more workers to attain a two percent rise in emiratization in skilled professions.
Information and communications; finance and insurance; real estate; professional and technical activities; administrative and support services; education; healthcare and social work; arts and entertainment; mining and quarrying; transformative industries; construction; wholesale and retail; transportation and warehousing; and hospitality and residency services are the 14 specific economic activities that the companies covered by the new Resolution operate in.
In order to ensure job continuity and attract UAE citizens to work in these economic activities, companies were chosen based on a set of specific criteria and data, such as the quality of their jobs, the degree to which they align with the goals of Emiratization, geographic locations, growth, and other factors. The selection of the activities was also focused on their capacity to create jobs and a favourable work environment, as well as their quick development rate.
Companies that do not complete their standards in 2024 will have to pay an annual financial contribution starting in January 2025. The fee is Dh96,000 for each UAE resident who isn't employed. In the meanwhile, starting in January 2026, a Dh108,000 monetary payment will be required for the year 2025. Businesses that have an agreement with Mohre may pay their required payments in installments.
