Onam celebration in the UAE; competitions and cultural events are all included

Onam will be celebrated in Sharjah with cultural performances, a large meal attended by more than 6,000 people, and a number of competitions. Onam which is a significant festival of Kerala, will be commemorated during an event on September 3 at the Expo Centre in Sharjah. The Medimix Ayurvedic Onamamangam 2023 is expected to be the largest Onam celebration in the UAE, according to the organisers. 6,000 people will be present for the magnificent Onam Sadhya, which will be served throughout the event's cultural celebrations, traditional treats, and electrifying performances. The varied population of the UAE will assemble to partake in the traditional delicacies of Kerala.

Additionally, Sithara's Project Malabaricus band will perform live. The blending of music and culture will provide a setting that captures the essence of Onam. The event will feature renowned musician Sabareesh Prabhaker. The fifth season winner of Bigg Boss Malayalam, Akhil Marar, will also participate for the first time in the UAE. Nyla Usha and Mithun, two well-known RJs from Hit FM, will attend the occasion.

Onam events of various kinds will be place on September 2 in Sharjah's Safari Mall during the first day of the festival. Competitions including Thiruvathira, kids' fancy dress and painting contests, Mr. Malayali & Malayali Manka, and Payasam competitions are available to participants. The evening ends with an exhilarating tug-of-war fight. The activities continue on the main day at the Sharjah Expo Centre, where a flowery carpet (pookkalam) competition will be held with cash awards totaling Dh15,000. On the main stage, there will also be a competition for cinematic dance.
