Number of students enrolled in Dubai’s private schools recorded the highest increase for the academic year 2023/24

Dubai’s private schools saw the largest rise in student enrolment, for the academic year 2023–24. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai reports that 365,000 students are enrolled overall, an increase of 12% (or 39,000). Since the authority was established in 2007, this is the largest enrollment rise. The academic year also saw the first-ever double-digit increase in enrollment at private schools, which indicates Dubai's rise to prominence as a centre of advanced learning that provides the best possible education in the world.

Since January 2023, Dubai's population has increased by more than 84,400, according to figures from Dubai Statistics. The General Directorate of residence and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai recently reported that the number of residence permits issued in the emirate increased by 63% between January and June of 2023.

There are now 220 private schools in Dubai, providing students from over 180 countries with 17 different curricula. The Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau rates the quality of education received by over 76% of students in Dubai as Good or better, including 76% of Emirati pupils.
