Nol cards could be used as ticket booking and fare payment solutions for the travel on Etihad Rail

Nol cards can be used to travel on Etihad Rail passenger trains. The ticketing system will be “one of the various ticket booking and fare payment solutions” to travel on the pan-UAE railway network. This comes after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on the fringes of the World Governments Summit between Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the national railway network of the United Arab Emirates, and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

With the signing of the agreement, the RTA will begin a cooperative venture to develop fare payment and ticket booking options via its Nol system.

The Nol card is a flexible smart card that may be used to pay for rides on any of the RTA's public transport systems in Dubai. It also functions as a way to pay for parking charges in RTA lots. In addition, it may be used to make purchases at specific retail establishments and cover admission costs to a number of attractions, including the Dubai Ladies Club, and the Shindagha and Etihad museums.
