No overstay fines to residents and visitors whose exit flights were cancelled due to the rains

Residents and visitors who had their exit planes postponed due to the record rains last week were not fined any overstay charges, according to Khaleej Times.

Overstayers are penalized Dh50 per day, according to revised visa restrictions that will standardize penalties in 2023.

A contact center official from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai verified that overstay fees were waived for travelers whose flights were cancelled between April 16 and 18.
