According to RTA, a new taxi-sharing pilot service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi was introduced Monday, allowing travelers to save up to 75% on their travel expenses. The new service, which intends to offer a quick, easy, and reasonably priced transit option, will run for six months before potentially being extended to other areas depending on its success.
Passengers will be able to ride together between the Ibn Battuta Center in Dubai and the Al Wahda Center in Abu Dhabi.
Instead of paying the entire ticket, the pilot service will allow each commuter to pay Dh66 for the shared transport. Passengers can use their bank cards or Nol cards to pay for the fare, as per
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the Public Transport Agency of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
The cost of the fare is Dh132 for two persons and Dh88 for three passengers traveling together.
