New state-of-the-art medical clinic offering free treatment will be set up at the Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi

In Abu Dhabi, a brand-new, cutting-edge medical facility with free care will be opened at Zayed International Airport. Therefore, travellers may travel with peace of mind and don't have to worry about unforeseen illnesses, pre-flight health checks, or any crises when they get to the airport.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, the founder and chairman of Burjeel Holdings, and Elena Sorlini, the managing director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, to work together on establishing and running a clinic.

Under Burjeel Medical City (BMC), Burjeel Holdings' flagship facility, the clinic will provide travellers with round-the-clock, high-quality medical treatment. It will guarantee that visitors can get healthcare right away without having to exit the airport. In order to stabilise patients' situations prior to their transfer to the hospital, the clinic provides free medical care. For patients who need to be admitted to the hospital, the clinic will have access to the resources and staff of the adjacent BMC. Employees and their families at Abu Dhabi Airport will also be eligible for additional perks.

Zayed International Airport, one of the biggest airport terminals in the world is equipped with the newest biometric and screening technologies. It can accommodate up to 45 million people a year and ensure a smooth travel experience from door to destination.

John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings, Safeer Ahamed, group COO, Omran Al Khoori, member of the board of directors, Hamad Al Hosani, chief corporate officer, and Aysha Al Mahri, deputy CEO of BMC, were present at the signing event.
