New passenger terminal at Dubai World Central; more job opportunities will be created

According to a top official, developers of Dubai South expect a population boom over the next "two to three years" as the emirate's new airport terminal takes shape. The master development's residential section, which now has about 25,000 residents, is anticipated to grow to over a million when the airport opens.

Over the next ten years, the current Dubai airport will be "fully absorbed" by the Dh128 billion passenger terminal at Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). To meet this need, Dubai is constructing an airport city, or aerotropolis.

The largest master development in Dubai, spanning 145 square kilometers, is centered on the aviation and logistics industries and features residential and mixed-use communities. Its website states that it would have a "multi-modal transport infrastructure connecting air, land, and sea" and that its ecosystem will create up to 500,000 job opportunities.

Villas, townhouses, mansions, and apartments are among the several residential options available in the community.
