Three well-known malls in Dubai, including Mall of the Emirates (MoE), will implement a new paid parking system from January 1, 2025, the announcement was made on Wednesday. MoE, City Centre Deira, and City Centre Mirdif now provide "barrierless parking" thanks to a partnership between Parkin Company, the main public parking operator in the emirate, and developer Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Properties.
Visitors will no longer have to pause and wait at barriers while entering or leaving mall parking lots thanks to Parkin's seamless parking technology.
The path and length of stay of each vehicle will be tracked by sophisticated cameras that automatically collect license plates.
Drivers will receive an SMS or Parkin app notice regarding parking fees as soon as they pull into the lot. Customers will be able to pay for any charges via the Parkin app or website.
It is anticipated that the new smooth entry and departure process would make it easier for over 20 million automobiles annually to reach malls at three different locations. There are 21,000 parking spots in all at these malls.
