New initiative launched in Abu Dhabi to unify services simplifying procedures for bereaved families

A new initaiative in Abu Dhabi has been launched to streamline the processes for bereaved families, such as obtaining a death certificate and making funeral arrangements, by digitally unifying the services of seven governmental institutions. The Sanadkom programme was introduced by the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) as a component of the Abu Dhabi Programme for Effortless Customer Experience. The project will assist the families of UAE nationals who have passed away in its initial phase. It will eventually encompass every emirate inhabitant.

Sanadkom wants to make it easier for relatives of the deceased to get government services, ease the grieving process for them, and provide them with assistance when an Emirati family member passes away. A member of the joint government support team will be designated as part of the programme to offer phone support and assistance to grieving families on an individual basis, guaranteeing that all services are provided without requiring in-person visits to any government office. 

In order to complete all required death-related transactions, including getting the death certificate, setting up the deceased's funeral, and distributing the retirement pension benefits to the beneficiaries on behalf of the insured or the deceased, this will give families all the support and assistance they need.

Seven governmental organisations in the emirate—the Department of Health, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF), the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), the Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), and the Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC)—have their services digitally unified by this initiative.
