The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has introduced a new call centre service to assist kids with information on immigration processes in an effort to reach out to the younger generation. At a recent media conference held at GDRFA's Innovation Centre, which contains its round-the-clock Amer call centre, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA, announced the service's opening.
According to him, the new service is an expansion of Dubai's airport terminals' kid-passport control booths. He said that the counters, which are designed to improve the travel experience for younger passengers, have contributed to increasing public awareness of the GDRFA's offerings.
The Amer contact center's toll-free numbers are 8005111 from within the United Arab Emirates and +97143139999 outside the country. Pressing numbers 3 (for English language selections) or 4 (for Arabic language selections) will take you to the children's queue.
The director of the Customer Happiness Department, Lieutenant Colonel Salem Mohammed Ali Sultan Bin Ali, stated that GDRFA decided to provide the service in response to input from children's passport counter customers indicating that they require a phone number to contact to get their questions answered. Since November 2023, the service has been available for trial, and hundreds of calls from kids have already been received, according to him.
Additionally, the GDRFA has introduced its "Call Back Assist" service. When a customer contacts and the customer service representatives are busy, they have two options: they may wait or leave a message asking to be contacted by a GDRFA agent. The system will immediately start the callback and connect the customer with the agent once the agent becomes available.
