National Day celebration in schools full of fervour

Schools across the UAE are celebrating the country's National Day with great enthusiasm, organising events, and even inviting students' families to participate.

The UAE schools are celebrating National Day by organising events and making it a happy and knowledgeable experience for children and participants alike. This is a celebration live in action after the long COVID restrictions.  Government organisations have been visiting schools, teaching children about the importance of sustainability. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) visited a Dubai school sharing valuable information with students on environmental conservation.

Week-long National Day celebrations were held at Amity School which started last week with a fun and informative collaboration with Dewa. The Dewa team, along with their mascots, visited classes, distributed UAE flags and pins, and shared some important lessons with students on sustainability and conservation, as shared by the Principal, Sangita Chima. From collages, word games and puzzles covering UAE’s national symbols and colours, to poster-making, poems, and National Day quizzes the glory and grandeur of the UAE was celebrated. Creative art in the colours of red, green, white, and black adorned the corridors and classrooms of the school. Students also are working hard on creating a life-size flag made of paper roses which is planned to be displayed in the school on the National Day.

Many schools are going big with their celebrations this year, even inviting parents to be a part of the school festivities.

Star International School, Mirdif is celebrating UAE National Day in a big way. This year the PTA, the 'Friends of Star Mirdif', have collectively planned a showcase event for the school community as opined by Principal, Neal Oates.

Meanwhile students of Repton Al Barsha enjoyed VR tours of the 7 Emirates which allowed them real immersion into the unique characteristics and heritage of each Emirate in UAE. The school also showcased a Dog show by the Dubai Police and their K9 unit, camel rides, meeting a falcon, henna, and enjoyed Emirati food. The celebrations of the school completed with them sitting in the shape of the number 51 and taking an amazing photo from the roof which will be displayed in the reception area for all to see, as shared by Principal, Gillian Hammond.

The national day celebrations at celebrations Credence High School started on 29th November with their sports day linked to the theme. On 30th November an in-house carnival was organized where the parents had set up food, games and handicraft stalls. Students and staff enjoyed Emirati music, food, henna and handicrafts. Everyone expressed their love and appreciation for the country, dressed in UAE Flag colours.  Moreover, activities have been planned across all grades to educate and engage the students in knowing more about the significance of the day. The details was shared by the CEO- Principal Deepika Thapar Singh.
