MoHAP joins the global community in celebrating the World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work, observed annually on April 28 to promote the idea of a safe and healthy workplace as a right and a fundamental value at work. The Ministry of Health and Prevention has joined the global community in celebrating the day. The ministry emphasised that the yearly event is a chance to highlight the nation's accomplishments in the area of safeguarding employees' health and safety at work.

It was highlighted that the UAE has previously ratified important ILO treaties and passed a number of regulations to protect occupational health and safety.

MoHAP added that the international commemoration of this event brings attention to the significance of ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for employees across all industries and the requirement to uphold occupational health and safety in the workplace.

The Ministry asked all employees and employers to work together to establish rules and processes that would ensure worker safety and efficient execution, as well as to create a safe and healthy work environment.

The Ministry reiterated the importance of providing appropriate training and resources to promote a healthy workplace culture since it significantly enhances productivity, quality, and overall social welfare.

According to the Ministry, it is working along with the appropriate national authorities in this regard under the National Standard for Occupational Safety and Health Management System, adhering to a thorough plan and set of rules.

For its workers and employees to operate in a safe and healthy environment, MoHAP also uses cutting-edge technologies and best worldwide practises.

In order to develop a complete preventative strategy that demands everyone's participation and commitment to engaging in safe and healthy behaviours, all employees must get the essential training across all offices.

In addition, the Ministry works with pertinent authorities to develop and update rules, statements of policy, and directives pertaining to occupational health and safety. This involves, in collaboration with pertinent Arab and international organisations, the development of a national system for tracking work-related accidents, illnesses, and injuries.

To assist employees' mental health and foster a sense of stability, the Ministry also places a strong emphasis on offering psychological therapy services. To detect health and safety hazards, monitor compliance with standards and requirements, and evaluate their implementation, regular reviews are carried out.
