NewsThe first floating Smart Police Station (SPS) in the Middle East is scheduled to open by the end of 2026, according to a statement made by Dubai Police. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE's vice president and prime minister and ruler of Dubai, unveiled the project, which is a component of a larger AED2 billion plan to improve security and public safety.
The floating SPS is intended to provide cutting-edge, top-notch services at sea to boat and yacht owners as well as others who enjoy water activities. The facility will offer 27 main services, such as submitting traffic and criminal reports, along with 33 supplementary services in six languages, according to Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Assets and Facilities at Dubai Police.
The station will run around the clock without human assistance, using robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) to increase productivity.
In order to provide citizens on land and at sea with automated, cutting-edge services, Dubai Police launched the Smart Police Station (SPS) project, which includes the floating station. It will help achieve the goal of "Dubai the World's Smartest and Happiest City" and relieve the strain on conventional police stations. To make it easier for boat and yacht owners to arrive, board, and depart, Lt. Col. Al Tamimi stressed that the station's layout would be optimal for accessibility.
This floating SPS is an important step in improving community security and the general standard of living in Dubai. It is the fourth iteration of Dubai Police's Smart Police Stations.
