MBRSC announces new launch date for UAE’s first mission to Moon

A new date for the launch attempt of the UAE’s first mission to the Moon was announced by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) with the Rashid Rover blasting off to the lunar surface on Wednesday, November 30, at 12.39pm UAE time.

The MBRSC, in collaboration with the partners – SpaceX and ispace, said the integrated launch vehicle will start rolling out to the launch pad Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The integrated spacecraft, once launched, will take a low-energy route to the Moon rather than a direct approach. This means that the rover will land about five months after the launch — in April 2023.
