NewsOn Monday, the RTA announced raising the top speed restriction on a portion of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Street and Al Amardi Street. The modification will take effect on September 30.
- Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street will have a 100 km/h speed restriction between Academic City Roundabout and Dubai Al Ain Road.
- There will be a 90 km/h speed restriction between the Academic City Roundabout and Al Khawaneej Street.
- Al Amardi Street will have a uniform speed restriction of 90 km/h between Al Khawaneej Street and Emirates Road.
In consultation with the Dubai Police General Headquarters, the speed restrictions on a portion of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and Al Amardi Street have been modified and standardised.
The new maximum speed restriction will replace existing traffic signs and road markings in these places.
According to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority, this decision aims to increase road safety and traffic flow on these two streets. Recent development and expansion of both roadways has resulted in an increase in lanes and enhanced junctions.
