Late July and early August are the best times of year to get the lowest costs for travel, accommodation, and summertime activities

Choosing a Wednesday flight over a Sunday will save you, on average, Dh279.15 per ticket, according to experts. Since airlines and hotels, especially in the GCC, frequently drop prices and run promotions during this time due to reduced demand brought on by extreme weather conditions, late July and early August are the best times to find lower prices for travel, lodging, and summertime activities.

The final week of July offers the best deals on flights, with average savings of 8% above summertime rates. Weekday prices are lower than weekend prices. Airfares tend to be cheaper on Tuesdays in particular and the starting days of the week, than they are on other days.

There is a possibility that you might save about 6% on your ticket if you begin your flight search on Tuesday at midnight.

According to a Skyscanner survey conducted in April, 56% of travellers from the UAE are aware that there are less expensive summer travel weeks and days, but just 3% are taking advantage of this.

Additionally, the results showed that 53% of tourists from the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) are planning to spend their summer vacation in Europe in 2024, an increase of 4% from the previous year.

Travellers are seeking more economical and low-cost choices closer to home as a result of a 4% fall in North America, which is probably caused by the strong US currency.

The route and time of year that passengers book likely to influence the most costly periods to book. 13 to 14 weeks ahead is fairly expensive because overseas travel is usually scheduled far in advance. According to our statistics, the optimal duration is between 6 and 12 weeks, with an average cost of 7 weeks.

Airlines frequently provide "fare classes," whereby they offer the following fare for purchase after the previous one sells out. So, travellers could secure a ticket at that initial price if they get in early.

If your trip is fully planned and there is no possibility of cancellation, securing availability and taking advantage of early booking discounts can result in significant cost savings when you book your itinerary four to six months in advance.

Travellers can also reserve their tickets far in advance, and think about visiting less well-known or unusual locations at off-peak times of the year. These are typically less costly and crowded. Travellers must take advantage of accumulating credit card points as well as earning travel rewards.
