Jump into a virtual world of augmented reality as Chaos Karts is opening in February; tickets go on sale on January 10

Dubai is receiving its first live-action video game racing experience. Residents and visitors can enjoy the newest feature of go-kart circuit were they race with their friends in karts.

Tickets for Chaos Karts go on sale on Wednesday, January 10 at 2 p.m. The track opens in February. 

Chaos Karts immerses competitors in an augmented reality virtual environment, racing around a digitally-projected world where drivers will not only have to navigate the track but watch for obstacles that come their way. Anti-collision technology and the lack of physical barriers on the circuit mean that driving suits and helmets won't be necessary.

Competitors will be completely submerged in the experience with real-life sensational features that have been built in.  Each race, which lasts around 20 minutes, will have a different layout, soundtrack, and kart abilities to aid competitors in their sprint to the finish line.

To participate, riders must be at least 1.30 metres tall or 10 years old.

The original is based in Manchester, England and the Dubai branch in Al Quoz will be the second in the world.
