The Jebel Hatif is a sole mountain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It is one of the highest mountains in the country. The Jabal Hafit mountain trends NNW–SSE over about 26 km and is 4–5 km (2.5–3.1 mi) wide.
It protrudes 900 m (3,000 ft) above the surrounding plains. The mountain consists of shallow marine sedimentary rocks, which includes limestone, marl, and evaporites. These layers contain many fossils which includes corals, foraminifera, and bryozoa. It is the rising to a height of 1,249 metres, this skyline-dominating peak is Abu Dhabi's highest, and the UAE's second tallest.
