Islamic New Year; Private sector employees in the UAE to get July 7 as a paid holiday

The UAE announced on Tuesday that employees in the private sector will get a paid holiday on July 7.

On the occasion of Hijri New Year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (Mohre) proclaimed the holiday, which falls on a Sunday. This day corresponds to Muharram 1 in the Islamic calendar, which is when the new Hijri year 1446 AH begins.
