Following recent travel advisories for Indian tourists visiting the United Arab Emirates, a few Indian airlines have released a set of rules for travelers. Travel agents in India and the UAE have received an advisory from airlines stating that "travellers should carry necessary documents when traveling from Indian cities to the UAE." As to the advise, Indian travelers need to make sure their passport is valid for a minimum of six months from the date of admission.
"It is mandatory for visitors to possess a confirmed return ticket, evidence of a confirmed hotel reservation, Dh3,000 (roughly Rs. 68,000) for a one-month visa and Dh5,000 for a longer stay, along with extra documentation of friends or relatives who live in the United Arab Emirates," the advise read.
SpiceJet has sent a circular to the agents informing them that passengers should have all necessary documentation, as "failure to do so may lead to deportation."
Additionally, the advise said that "passengers who do not have the required documents at the departing airport will not be allowed to board our flights, and the ticketing agency will be charged for all associated costs."
Travel agents claim that passengers are fully informed about the issue and have all the required paperwork with them.
