ICP showcased the Smart Land Borders Crossing system enabling easy travel procedures to adjacent nation

Residents and nationals of the UAE may now easily pass the Al Ghuwaifat border without getting out of their cars thanks to a new system that has been implemented. The Smart Land Borders Crossing technology was on display at the present Gitex Global exhibition by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).

Through a strategically located road crossing, the Ghuwaifat border acts as an important link between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Every month, hundreds of citizens and residents of the UAE go to Saudi Arabia for religious tourism, Umrah, or just to see friends and family. Travelling to the adjacent nation will become considerably faster and smoother with this revolutionary method in place.

Car owners need to have their vehicles registered in their names in order to utilise the Smart Land Borders Crossing technology. The motorist will be able to access the first barrier when the system scans their car's number plate. People will scan their passports, Emirates IDs, and facial recognition or biometric data at the second phase. The second barrier will open and let the drivers leave the nation when the ICP system confirms the information. The person must park the car and go through the conventional process of visiting immigration for verification in order to leave the country if the system is unable to authenticate the identity of the individual.
