NewsThe famous Emirates Pavilion, which is well-known for its dynamic design inspired by an aircraft wing at Expo 2020, has been converted into the airline's cutting-edge hub for aviation innovation. The facility, which unveiled a futuristic display with cutting-edge aviation robots, VR sets, and an immersive theatre, showcases some of the most cutting-edge technology advancements in the aviation industry in the region.
The hub, called Ebdaa (which translates to "creativity" in Arabic), is exclusively accessible by invitation and will provide a venue for innovators to realise their ideas with the support of the Emirates team.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airline & Group, officially opened Ebdaa on Thursday in the presence of Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and other dignitaries.
Ebdaa, which spans three floors and more than 35,000 square feet, is primarily focused on three technologies: robotics, artificial intelligence, and web 3.0. Keenan Hamza, Vice President of Emirates Group for Technology Futures & Innovation, said the organisation will make use of the innovation hub in a number of ways.
Several technologies were on exhibit within the hub. An AI-powered executive boardroom, dubbed the "conference room of the future," let users interact and work together with groups and audiences all over the world. A 55-seat XR theatre, the first of its type inside a corporate organisation in the Middle East, was one of the attractions. Here, XR capabilities, camera tracking, an LED-powered stage, and real-time 3D renderings allow presenters to interact with and submerge audiences across the world in virtual environments.
